Andy Beckerman is a writer and podcaster based in Los Angeles and just finished writing his first feature film for Tilting Windmill Productions. Previously, he wrote and EPed pilots for CBS Studios/Comedy Central (HOW TO BE A COUPLE) and truTV (INSIDE CAUCASIA). If you like hearing about development, he’s developed a lot of projects since moving to LA with wonderful people at places like Revelations, Pretty Matches, and most recently Kent Alterman and Sarah Babineau’s new company. He has also written for shows like THE PETE HOLMES SHOW (TBS), CEDRIC'S BARBER BATTLE (The CW) and has been hired to fix a number of other shows.

For the last 12 years, Andy has also produced and hosted the popular interview podcast BEGINNINGS about the creative origins and childhoods of writers and performers. In addition to Beginnings, Andy also hosts the hit podcast COUPLES THERAPY with his fiancee, stand-up Naomi Ekperigin. Part of the Acast Network, Couples Therapy is an interview/advice podcast about romance, therapy and anything in-between. It’s been regularly featured on the Apple comedy charts and written up in everything from The New York Times to New York Magazine to EW.

From 2012-2017, Andy was an official performer at UCB in New York, and hosted and produced monthly live episodes of BEGINNINGS, as well as his gameshow podcast SNAP IMPRESSION.

Many years before all this, Andy was a PhD student and adjunct professor in Temple University's philosophy department, where he mostly studied Hegel and Complexity Theory and taught classes like Philosophy of Art and Feminist Philosophy.

Previously, Andy worked with his friend Mark as a duo named Wrestling Team. They produced a number of stages shows, including the musicals ROCKEFELLER CENTAUR and THE CREEP TWINS - both of which were featured at the Boston Comedy Arts Festival - and videos, including the Channel 101 series CENTS AND CENTS' ABILITIES. Their indie pilot GRUMPKIN HOLLOW was a finalist in the 2012 New York Television Festival/Comedy Central Short Pilot Competition, and in addition to that, they created three episodes of their independent eponymous sketch show. The final episode entitled CHARCOAL, BONEMEAL, BERGMAN will be released in 2018.
